Crooked pictures on the wall

Ever notice how some people notice and have to point out the little things... like the fact that all the pictures you have hanging on your wall are crooked? Yesh - I see that - but I can only fix so many things at one time... do I use the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and clean the crayon off the wall - wipe the runny nose of the kid running at my feet - feed the million baby fish we suddenly acquired overnight or do I straighten the picture on the wall.

To be honest, most of the time I don't do any of these things. Ok - so I wipe the kids nose - but I do it on my shirt (Yeah - I hear you groaning - but you and I both know you have done it too!). I get caught up on spending 2 hours to clean one cabinet in the bathroom - and then end up with a bathroom counter covered in the stuff from under the cabinet... oh yeah, some of that stuff is also on the floor too, and now down the hall.

Ok - as you know the trend here is that I am a mess. And because I'm a mess - everything around me is a mess. I should have married a neat freak - but my dear husband is also a mess and so we continue to live among the mess. No matter what we do we just make more messes and then just barely get the last partially cleaned before the next one begins.

The point here is that to some degree I love this mess. I know you are expecting me to get sentimental here - ok - ok I'm going to BUT I can't help it. I'd rather paint with Julia and drool with Anna then clean the floor. I know - I'm lazy and I SHOULD keep the house clean. But ya know what - I just don't WANNA! HA - I said it... I don't want to clean my house. I'd rather get a part time job just to pay someone else to clean my house once a month!

I'm working on it - mostly getting rid of stuff so I have less mess to deal with. That adult thing of finding balance in my life so I have a mostly clean house AND healthy, well adjusted kids and the time to enjoy them.

What am I going to go do now? Watch the Incredibles with the kids - and maybe adjust that one low picture with my foot.
