I'm so not cut out to be a single mom ...

I'm so glad that Dan is home. It's weird how when he's here it appears he can make life more difficult but in reality he really does make life easier. With Anna being such a BUSY girl it's nice to have another body present to track her down.

That's all. It's good to have him home...

If you kind of squint your eyes a little...

Ok - I've admitted that I'm lazy - and definitely slobbish - although working on it. I'm finding I can live without a lot of the sentimental crap I've been holding on to for years.

So - I kind of hold the same approach to my creative endeavors. I love to scrapbook, I enjoy painting - and now I'm getting creative with my sewing - doing these precious ribbon and embellished overalls and jeans (I will post pics later!!) ... but I'm NO perfectionist. So I was telling my good friend J that I had made a pair for her daughter's 2nd birthday, but I warned her that they were CUTE - but my sewing leaves much to be desired - so if she looks at it from a foot away and kind of squints her eyes - they look great! Her comment was, "That's how everything in my life is!!"

That's me - PERFECTLY - I live the kind of life where if I stand back and I squint my eyes, my life looks awesome and I like it that way!

Teeth = bad times

Poor babies.... what is it about teeth that just makes life miserable for the little 'un's. Anna is getting her 8th tooth. She is very unlucky in the fact that her teeth drop early and then just S L O W L Y break through... and I mean slow! She's pretty happy most of the time - but it disrupts her sleep which add gnarly cranky kid to my list of concerns.

teething tablets help, ibuprophen brings short term relief, cold foods in the baby safe feeder, and a lot of hard toys to chew on...

It's crazy how as soon as that tooth breaks the skin - everything changes. The 12 hour sleep returns, the big toothy grins and for a short while a reprieve from the drooling!

What I'm watching...

Sideways...

This could have been so much better if it was a half an hour shorter. First off - let me mention I was NOT in the mood to watch this movie - so that might have skewed my view...

OK - I was praying it would be over SOON for the last half an hour, I was tired and i just was done with the movie. Paul Giamatti was awesome - and who knew Thomas Hayden Church could be so cute! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Sandra Oh - she's awesome. Virginia Madsen was my fave character in this movie.

Enough of the wine talk already... I don't like it enough to watch an entire movie about it. Wine was an additional character in this movie, and it was interesting but did I mention it was a little too long??

What I'm watching...

I finally saw The Village...

It wasn't bad, I spent a good portion of the movie trying to figure out what what was going on - and I mean that in a good way!

I liked the fact that it wasn't like every other movie I've ever seen...

The Garage Sale...

Finally! I was able to have my garage sale. Unfortunately it was visited by boring, "normal" people.

We did get to meet some of our neighbors - and Julia made many new friends. I just love that she thinks everyone that talks to her is her closest friend. One exciting point was that the little boy from her preschool, who has decided that she is his girlfriend, his grandma lives 4 doors down from us!

We got rid of a lot of the things we needed to get out of the garage - now I just can't wait for the donation pick up! Then I'll finally be able to park in my garage!

So a big WHOO HOO to a successful garage sale!

I love Food Network

Big time... how much fun is this channel.

OK here are some random thoughts on Food TV..

*Rachel Ray - goofy as hell but hilarious. I just love her - and her 30 minute meals
*Alton Brown - my favorite. He's just sooooo cute and funny.
*Mario Batali - sure knows his Italian - and likes to share it... not sure how I feel about him
*Giada or whatever her name is... - she has a really big head - and I'm talking about sheer size - not ego!
*Tyler Florence - he's just hot. I love Food 911 - and how cutesy he is with these people
*Emeril - BAM nuff said
*Paula Deen - she is just PRECIOUS!!! I think she's out to kill America one saturated fat laden food at a time. I once saw her make a cheeseburger and add fried egg, bacon, butter to the beef, cheese and then grilled the buttered buns - with a milkshake (premium ice cream with more cream, added sugar and vanilla) .... can you believe it. I do love her though...
* Sara Moulten - I like her but she puts on a little bit too much of a hoity toity thing...

What I'm watching...

Spanglish...

It was great. I just loved this movie. I loved Adam Sandler AND his daughter in this. Great. Not a huge fan of Tea' Leoni - but I think it was her whiny, annoying character that was terrible - not her acting.

I enjoyed this even while practically dying from food poisoning.. so that's two thumbs up...
