I finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
I LOVED IT!
I cried through the last 200 pages.
Wow. It was a great ride.
I read it while sitting on the beach and out in the lake. It was perfect.

Harry Potter Update
Yes.
No pages read.
Last night I picked up Order of the Phoenix (Dan's reading it) and read a couple of pages. Man I love that book.
Then it hit me.
I don't want to read it. As long as I don't read it, it's still out there to read.
Apparently this is a problem with me. I'm not good with being "done". The same goes for my tubes. Yes, THOSE tubes. I'm done having children. I do not want another one. I really, really don't. When I get the phone calls from my RE every month saying that my blood test says I'm indeed not pregnant, I hold my breath waiting for that word. NOT. As soon as I hear it, whoooosh. Relief. Not even a tinge of disapointment.
So, you'd think I'd run out and get those tubes tied, or cut or both. If not me, you'd think I'd be sending Dan in for his own slice and dice, complete with the infamous bag of frozen peas for relief.
Yet, I can't do it. Why?
I want to know I CAN if I want to. I don't want CAN'T to figure into the equation. To go to a baseball metaphor... As Kirdy once told me, "I like knowing there is still one on deck."
Craziness, I know. Especially since I think finding out I'm pregnant would send me straight to the local crazy shack. (Edited in response to the question... theMirena IUD is the BC method we have chosen... but that's another post)
So, if you were tuning in for my thoughts on Potter and you were just forced to read about my womanly-ness. Sorry. At least I didn't talk about periods and stuff.
Oooops. I just did.
I know I need to suck it up and read it. I don't want to have it spoiled for me. I can't keep watching only Noggin and shielding my eyes each time I try and open my browser to check email.
I guess I want to know what happens, but I'm clinging to the fact that the unknown is still out there for a little bit longer. That excitement of reading the last book is still there.
Yes Mom, I'm a dork.

No spoilers here...
You'd actually have to read a page in the book to have a spoiler.
Yep, that's right. This HP dork hasn't read a single page.
Not one page.
We had too much fun up at the lake this weekend to even start.
Anna spent 8 hours in the lake yesterday, then fell asleep through dinner, then got back in for an hour. She's a little fish. Julia and Emma both also love the water. Em likes to be held by the arms, in front of you and then kick her feet and squeal.
Julia is still up at the lake with my parents for the week. She could barely wait for us to leave. Anna is lost without her, and cranky.
So, I'm patiently waiting for nap time and then it will be time for the book.

We Mugglefested...
We're home from Mugglefest... I'm about to head out and pick up my book.
We had a great time. It was super packed and too hot for comfort since the event was indoors. THe sets were great and the actors they hired to play characters did a great job staying in character. Gilderoy Lockhart was my favorite. He'd come up and ask, "would you care for my autograph? or perhaps a photo of me?" It was cute.
Julia made a snitch and had her pic taken in a Quidditch robe on a pitch.
We volunteered for two hours and saw lots of fun people. Julia was dressed up as Luna and she stood with Professor Trelawny at the entrance and welcomed people to Mugglefest. She also handed out The Daily Prophet.
Here are some links...

I saw Harry Potter.....
I did.
Last night at midnight.
I have to tell you, I loved it.
David Yates, you are awesome. This is how I saw Harry Potter all along. I'm so glad to hear he's on board for 6 and 7.
It was a fun experience. Julia went to bed really early last night. At 11pm I woke her up and she had no idea why, she's not a huge HP fan, but I thought she'd like this. We went to the theater and the line was wrapped around the theater. This wasn't the line for tickets, this was just the line to get in to the theater. There were a few people dressed up, but most of the Muggles in line were Muggle-ish.
We ran into Julia's Kindergarten teacher at the movie. I just love her.
SO... movie. Great. The score was wonderful... LOVED the music. I have a few small complaints about the movie, but overall this was by far the best.
Julia had a blast, wasn't scared at all. Today she woke up and told me, "mom, I had the best time last night. I now love Harry Potter. Those kids were so brave. I didn't know kids could do that."
I asked her what kids could do. Her reply, "Make a difference."
I think she gets it.

Only a mother could love...
Ok, did you catch that my own mother just called my last post LAME???? Damn.
So, tonight we're chatting on messenger (because we're cool like that) and she tells me I'm weird. The following conversation ensues. Hilarity all around...
Karen says:
you're weird
Heather says:
why?
Karen says:
what will you do if JK kills harry?
Heather says:
I think she should
Heather says:
but I'll cry
Heather says:
I don't think she will
Karen says:
me either
Heather says:
although she did pay big bucks to set up a phone hotline
for support
Karen says:
there's a thing in Reader's Digest, or People as to how to talk to child about it if he dies. I'll cut it out so I 'll know what to say to you
Heather says:
ha
that's damn funny
Karen says:
i'm damn funny!
Heather says:
that's soooo blog worthy

Harry Potter and all that shizznet
Do you ever just feel your dork meter rising?
Well, I'm afraid that before too much longer mine is going to top out.
I've been in a bit of a Harry Potter obsession. Just a bit.
It all started with the discovery of the pottercast and mugglecast podcasts on itunes. Then it just exploded from there. I never knew how crazy people were about "Jo's" books. I mean I knew people really liked them, but not how deeply. As in VERY deeply.
There is the fan fiction. Amazing stuff. People write creatively using "Jo's" writing as a jumping off point. Some of these stories are fascinating and exciting.
Then there is the Wizard Rock. I can't quite get into this - but it's astonishing that so many bands exist and tour the country and world and make MONEY singing songs about Harry and his pals.
DId you know there is a canon? There is. Everything you would ever want to know about Harry Potter can be found here. Anything.
I'm only getting my feet wet, barely scratching the surface and what other cliche's you can put in here - but some people live and breathe all things Potter. A lot of these people are other grown adults (and yes, some may question my choice of the term "grown").
So here is a summary of links I've recently uncovered...
